The Western Digital WD Livewire Powerline AV Network Kit works as represented — and works well. I bought the kit to be able to stream movies to my TV via my Samsung Blu-Ray(BD-P1600)Player. It works and streams the movies without problems. Originally, I had thought to usage a radio connection and bought a Samsung Tuner LAN Adapter(WIS09ABGN). It did not work out. The distance from my tuner G router to my TV and Blu-Ray was only too cracking and the quality of the network connection did not stand streaming of movies. So, the resolution was either to try a more powerful radio N router (without knowing if that solution would mold out) or seek another solution. Fortunately, I thought near powerline networking and, afterward much online investigation and reading reviews (both professional and user reviews) bought the WD Livewire Powerline. Equally a note, the user’s guide, in my humble opinion, sucks. It does not pass amply realise set up instructions. I originally sought to route the network connection Ethernet cable straightaway from my modem to the WD device and then Western Digital WD Livewire an Ethernet cable from the WD device to my router (which supports my Vonage telephone). That did not work. A nearer brushup of the maneuver convinced me to route the connection from modem to router to WD device and that worked similar a charm. It was just a topic of connecting the first WD device to an outlet at the placement of the modem and connecting the instant device to an outlet at the location of the Blu-Ray player and TV and connecting the Blu-Ray player to the WD device. Only remember NOT to plug in either device to a power strip or to a multi-plug spate suppressor. Each devise has to exist plugged instantly into the electric outlet.
