I was undecided whether to get a software based scanner that you install on your laptop or this. I chose this becauise it does obd1 &obd2 also is rugged, all cables also conectors are provided, exactly the same easy to use also does an excellent job. Equus 3120 took me some getting used to except once i did, it is well worth the money. I too wanted to see live data except can’t justify the extra cost just to see live data when you can get the data from the obc when the fault occurred. Anyways this tool has helped me fix my truck also it is also helping me withy my suv. I am kind of a freelance mechanic withy better than average knowledge of automobiles. I recommend that anyone who is willing to do their own work on cars own one of these. Save yourself also friends the dealer costs of diagnosing engine problems. This model in particular is extremely easy to use on all vehicles withy the ob1 also ob2 systems. The money you save will easily pay for this scanner.
